Trip to the library? NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

When did my kids start being library-haters?

I woke up this morning thinking it would be fun to go to the library in Huntsville. I guess I was half-asleep and doing my thinking in dreamland. Every time I ask the boys if they want to go to the library, regardless of where it is, I get, "Um. NO." Like they are saying, "Duh. Why don't you just shove bamboo shoots under our fingernails."

The boys used to LOVE the library. We would go and spend over an hour while they explored books, sat and looked through the pictures and chose WAY too many books to check out. And that was a LONG time in one place for three young boys. No more.

I am a reader, so this is a bit distressing me to. Was it the Accelerated Reader program at school that ruined them? Having to read books as one of your grades? I doubt it. There are people who still read who went through the same program. I know a friend of mine has a son the same age as Strat, and he asked for a Nook for Christmas!

I guess it's just their personalities and the fact that they have other things that are more entertaining to do with their free time than read a book. Although I can't imagine what it could be.

In any event, I hope it changes, and I will be ready with their library cards when it does.
