My first car

This is a picture of the make and model of my first car. It was a Honda Civil CVCC, dirt brown, wrecked, with no seats. My parents bought it for $400, had it fixed and painted at a body shop, found seats at a salvage yard, and put a kick-tail stereo system in it. I LOVED this car! It was probably almost 10 years old when I got it, and I would love to have it again.

I took Strat to school yesterday and noticed the parking lot FULL of luxury vehicles: BMW, Volvo, Infiniti, Jaguar... I just had to shake my head with a smile on my face.

It's fabulous that parents want their kids to have the best, but where is the character building in that? Driving a jalopy is a right of passage that many youth today do not get. It's sad, really, that kids have come to expect the best from the beginning instead of working their way up to the best. What is the goal when you START with a BMW? Maybe to go from a 3-series to a 5-series, then finally a 7-series?

Sad, really.

Thank you!
