Living in the great state of Pennsylvania for a number of years, if my beloved Donovan McNabb can't make it to the biggest game of the year, the Steelers are my second choice. My fabulous friend Deanne LOVES the Steelers (but not more than Steven Tyler), and that makes the team even closer to my heart.
I felt sure the Steelers would win, even though my husband was pulling for the Cardinals. He made note last night that it was the first time he could remember that we were on opposite sides of the fan field. Jim has a lot of respect for Kurt Warner, and wanted him to win that ring.
However, the better team won. I told Jim, when it appeared that the Cardinals may pull it out, that the Steelers deserved the win because they had played with more conhesiveness and consistency. It was a classic outcome for a classic team.
Now, on to Bruce Springsteen...am I the only American who cannot stand to listen to or look at this man? Can SuperBowl halftime show people not find someone to entertain football fans who has had a hit in the last 20 years? Didn't Tom Petty play last year? Prince was the year before? Not since Justin/Janet's wardrobe malfunction have we had decent halftime entertainment. Maybe football fans are supposed to be old fogey's, or maybe the majority of them are getting more snacks, using the loo, or high-fiving everyone at the local pub. In any event, it's getting to be a snoozer.
Lastly, let's talk commercials. As the holder of a college minor in marketing psychology, I LOVE commercials. NBC sold all of the spots for a record $206M. Good for NBC. Not so good for the completely forgettable ads. The only 30 second spot that may have been worth watching was cut by the censors at NBC - from PETA, of all people. Something about hot women and broccoli. I'll have to look for that one! I think my favorite was from CareerBuilder.com and showed the same scenarios over and over, while adding a new one each time. The woman in the car screaming at other drivers reminded me of someone, and made me laugh.
Have a good week, everyone!

Actually, I love the Steelers WAY more than Stephen Tyler(although Steve has MUCH better hair than Ben Roethlesberger).
Also, my favorite commercial was the one with Troy Polomalu and the guys running from him saying "is he coming?" LOL!! That cracked me up! The talking babies were a close second as were Mr & Mrs Potato head. Not the best SuperBowl commercial year, but there were a few!
