Bill Heard Chevrolet Closing

First of all, you know that I am not particularly gifted in the area of compassion, but the fact that people are amazed and surprised that the largest Chevrolet dealer franchise in the nation is closing its doors really amazes and surprises me. So, here is my open letter to US auto manufacturers:

Dear United States Automobile Manufacturers:

Finally, you are reaping what you have sown. You have consistently produced gas-guzzling, unattractive, problem-riddled vehicles. Your service departments have been overpriced and unimpressive. You have chosen to exchange gas mileage for performance, even though the vast majority of the American people do not need to go from zero to sixty miles an hour in 6.3 seconds.

Now you want the government to give you billions of dollars so you can make more fuel-efficient cars. Good job, executives! You have waited until we are in the worst financial and fuel crisis in history to decide that perhaps your line of vehicles is not what America wants or needs.

How moronic can an entire industry be? Do all of you fat-cat execs sit in a posh conference room, smoking cigars and drinking bourbon, deciding that you are not going to change a thing? That the American consumer will eventually "come around" and buy your Tahoe if it has pin striping down the side that says "Hybrid"? You actually think that American consumers will find your Lincolns more attractive if you change their name from "MarkV" to "MKX"? How stupid do you think we are??

So, I guess my point is, you deserve to go out of business. You deserve it because you have, for decades, ignored the trend of smaller, more efficient and reliable autos. Stop whining about the fact that Americans are, for the most part, smarter than your advertising firms. My advice is to update your resume, prepare for a pay-cut and go to your local Honda dealer. Maybe they'll give you a job.

Signed,
An American Consumer

Way to go. I was a little surprised that they did go under. However, I am in agreement that they did not meet the demand for the smaller more efficient vehicle that people need and want. And make them cost effective. Efficient cars that are overly priced and the average american cannot purchase are not going to cut it! Wake up SHEEPLE!
