What a hypocrite!

For some reason, society finds it difficult to call anyone a hypocrite who is not a white Christian. Well, I'll break with social mores and call Dr. Robin Smith a hypocrite. I have long thought that Oprah is a humongous racist. For example, anyone that uses their fame, fortune, and influence to further the causes of people primarily of one race is a racist. By definition, "racist" is racial prejudice or discrimination. I think there can be no argument here.

But I digress. This is about a hypocritical statement I heard Dr. Robin Smith spout on a commercial for the "Oprah & Friends" station on XM. She went on and on about women who lie about their age. They are robbing themselves of who the years have made them. They are portraying someone they are not. They are failing to embrace who they are. All very eloquent, even though a bit preachy.

Then, as is the case with most people who love the sound of their own voice, she lost all credibility. "I do, however, support hair color. Hair color is the best invention of the 20th century." I'm sure that this was meant to be a joke, and I saw it as such; but, honestly. What is the difference in lying about your age and coloring your gray hair? The Bible (Proverbs 16:31) has this to say about gray hair: Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained by a righteous life. Wow.

So...I guess it's okay to tell people what your true age is, as long as you don't LOOK it.

Hypocrite.
