As much as everyone would like you to think so, the election for president of the United States is NOT a popularity contest.
I'll start another paragraph for emphasis on the above. There are some things that you should consider when you vote for the leader of the free world (however short-lived that title may now be). Plans and programs would be a good one. That covers everything from balancing the budget to reducing the deficit to healthcare reform. You may want to consider experience. I would say that could be a plus for a presidential contender. You may want to keep morals or beliefs in mind. Many would prefer a like-minded candidate in the highest office in the land.
What should have absolutely no bearing at all is who is currently in the lead. I understand that everyone wants to vote for a winner, but we are not in junior high school.
McCain seems like a very good man. War hero, good family, knows what he believes. Hillary seems like the most experienced, with the best thought-out plans and programs. Barack seems like a preacher in politician's clothing (note the Biblical reference to wolf in sheep's clothing).
Barack is surging ahead in the polls with the momentum of the antiChrist. Note, again, the Biblical theme. I am nothing if not topical. That is very concerning to me. I have to think that the has the endorsements from black leaders because he is a brotha. I have to think that he has endorsements from powerful politicians because they see that he is a tool. A puppet.
That is the thing I fear the most. That we will have another presidential puppet whose strings are in the hands of the few, and not the people. Very few people will argue with my opinion that George W Bush is a big 'ole tool. And look where special interests have gotten us. You can't please all of the people all of the time, and he sure tried. Now were are hated by the rest of the world, and most of our own country. We are in a humongous crapper in the Middle East, and we owe more money than we will ever be able to pay.
Do us all a favor and vote for Hillary or McCain. Hillary is the most experienced and the only one ready to hit the ground running. I like McCain because he has NEVER had a special interest earmark. That makes him a very stand-up guy. And I like how he seems to always be three steps away from pissed off.
That can't be a bad trait for a president!
