Well, well, well...it has been a while since we have been to the emergency room. Thanks to the little boy next door, we went last night. Here's how it went down:
Jack and Chase were playing with Carson, the 3rd grader next door. The were throwing the football out in the front yard. Carson got a new Nerf toy where there are two vests with velcro targets on them, and two guns that shoot little Nerf darts. There were playing with that, too.
Strat and I ran to WalMart to get some stuff for his discipleship class at church, leaving the house probably around 4:15 in the afternoon. We went to WalMart, I took Strat to church, then came back home. The first words out of Jim's mouth were, "I have a story to tell you and you are not going to like it."
Long story short: Carson got a little too militaristic with the play and threw a wooden block at Jack like it was a grenade. It hit Jack on the left side of the face, just outside the eyeball socket. Sure enough, it looked like it needed a stitch.
Just to make sure, we went to "The Mamo's House". If I am not one hundred percent sure, I turn to "The Mamo". haha She called a doctor friend for a phone consult, and he told us to come on in.
It just so happened that he was coming on staff at 7pm, which is about what time we ended up going back to a room from the waiting room. He looked at it and said that, yes, it needed to be closed, but didn't need a stitch, glue would do.
All in all, I am glad that we went, although it probably would have been fine if we had not. However, it would have been a larger scar than it needed to be, and now Jack's modeling career is still in tact.
